Ascotremella faginea (Peck) Seaver A jelly like asco, fruit body crowded together with a very short stem, pink to violet, shiny when wet. Asci 8 spored, ascospores 7-9x4-4.5, with two drops and 3 or 4 strations (very difficult to see). Found on dead twigs of Alder and Beech. Europe and America. Not edible.
